The historical Daming Lake landscape, in the city of Jinan, served as inspiration for this large Mixed Use Project, that includes functions such as offices, a hotel, a shopping center, gardens and parking areas. Inside the lake, several islands are connected through bridges and causeways, creating a network of different experiences. In our project, we explore this principle and translate it into an architecture concept.
We organize our building following the principle of serving space (circulation/causeways) and served space (islands/shops).The proximity of the 1,000 Buddha Mountain forest made us search for the smooth integration of landscape and built environment. Thus, the park is somehow invited into the building as if the forest is extended to the city.
